Presidio GO Shuttle

This service (formerly the PresidiGo Shuttle) offers everyone free rides to and around the park.

Holiday Schedule

There will be NO shuttle service on Christmas Day (12/25) and the shuttle will run on a weekend schedule on New Year’s Day (1/1).
The Presidio GO Shuttle offers visitors, employees, and residents free daily service to and around the park.

The shuttle has two routes: the Downtown Route and the South Hills Route.

The Downtown Route offers round-trip service between the Presidio Transit Center and downtown San Francisco, with limited stops along the way. It operates seven days a week, running from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. A few commute time weekday trips on the Downtown Route are only available to Presidio residents and employees who have a Presidio GO Shuttle pass. See the Downtown Route schedule.

The South Hills Route makes stops all around the Presidio. It’s free, available to all, and never requires a Presidio GO Shuttle pass. It operates from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. See the South Hills Route schedule.

Shuttles are wheelchair-accessible and feature bike racks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tickets and Passes

No. Visitors are welcome to use the shuttle except for limited weekday commute times when the Downtown Route is restricted to residents and tenants only: weekdays during the morning commute (7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.) and on every other shuttle trip during the evening commute (4:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m.).

Visitors can travel during the restricted commute times only if they have a Muni Visitor Passport, which is not the same as a Clipper Card or monthly MUNI pass. It can be purchased for 1, 3, or 7 consecutive days of unlimited rides on MUNI, MUNI Metro, historic streetcars, and cable cars. Purchase a MUNI Passport at select retail locations or use the MUNI Mobile App.

The Presidio GO Shuttle is free! Some trips on the Downtown Route during commute hours require a Presidio GO Pass.

Presidio GO Shuttle passes are distributed to people who live or work in the Presidio through the Presidio Residences Leasing Office or through park employers. Presidio GO Shuttle passes cannot be purchased. Other valid forms of ID include a Presidio Trust employee ID, LDAC employee ID, Bay School of San Francisco ID, and a MUNI Visitor Passport.

Routes and Schedules

You can use the Downtown Route schedule and the South Hills Route schedule to see weekday and weekend timetables.

You can board at the bus stop on Drumm Street just north of California Street in front of the Hyatt hotel. Look for Presidio GO Shuttle signage on the bus.

The Downtown Route is an express service — it’s specifically designed to connect riders to downtown San Francisco and regional transit services (like BART) as quickly as possible. Drivers will not let you off at unscheduled stops because this slows down service and makes it more difficult to stay on schedule.

Traffic congestion, road closures, and accidents may cause delays on the Downtown Route, especially during commute hours. You can track the shuttle in real time. Delays of 10 minutes or more will also be reported via text message. You can sign up for these text message alerts.

There are several ways to get real-time information, including a live map:

  • Smartphone: Download the Transit App.
  • Text message: Text “Presidio [Stop ID #]” to 41411.
  • Desktop computer: Visit presidiobus.com.

Presidio GO can only be used as transportation to or from the Presidio. It’s not intended to be used for travel within the City or as an alternative to Muni.

Drivers wait up to five minutes for other routes to allow a timed transfer to/from other routes. When the Downtown Route is running late, the South Hills Route waits up to five minutes to allow passengers to make their connection.

Rider Rules and Services

All the shuttles have accessibility features and can accommodate up to two wheelchairs. Some of the shuttles have wheelchair lifts and others have ramps. Our wheelchair lifts have a weight maximum of 600 pounds and can accommodate wheelchairs measuring 30 inches by 48 inches. Our ramps have a weight limit of 1,000 pounds and can accommodate wheelchairs and mobility devices up to 30 inches wide.

Service animals are welcome on the Presidio GO Shuttle. Other animals must be kept in a carrier. Leashed and muzzled dogs may be let on the shuttle at the driver’s discretion but may not sit on the seats. Please do not bring your non-service pet on Presidio GO during peak commute hours.

About Presidio GO Shuttle

The Presidio GO Shuttle is funded by the Presidio Trust, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, and Presidio tenant organizations. Presidio parking fees help fund the shuttle.

The Presidio GO Shuttle fleet is fueled with compressed natural gas. Our first battery-electric shuttle is now operating on the South Hills Route. We plan to gradually transition to an all-electric fleet.
